Welcome to Mini Yogis, an exciting and creative class designed to enrich both the mind and body of little learners. Why should kids do yoga? The benefits of yoga for children include:
Using yoga poses, flows, breathing, games, and more we will meet each child at his or her developmental level to increase strength, flexibility, gross motor, and fine motor skills. Mindfulness practices are integrated throughout, helping yogis with their developing attention, focus, and self-regulation. Techniques such as breathing, guided relaxation, and meditation help to calm the body AND mind, giving children the tools to cope with daily stress and anxiety while developing resiliency. We tap into social-emotional development by incorporating emotional vocabulary, peer interaction, and positive self talk while fostering acceptance, confidence, and communication. Join us as we move, laugh, and play in a positive and supportive environment. Suggestions for home activities will be provided so you can bring the power of yoga into your home, as well. A gentle class focusing on flowing from pose to pose and linking movement with breath work to improve your mental, emotional, physical flexibility and health. Mondays at 6:15pm. Session 2 classes begin October 28th.
